MORE PURE THAN GOLD

Caratage Craftsmanship

At Caratage, our commitment to crafting garments that are 'More Pure Than Gold' transcends mere intention. It reflects every aspect of our manufacturing process, from hand-selecting the finest materials to the meticulous attention to detail in every stitch & detail.

Our Fabric

Explore the exceptional materials that form the foundation of our garments. Each fabric we use, from our plush organic fleece to our resilient SUPIMA® Cotton, is carefully selected for its superior quality & feel.

American Grown SUPIMA® Cotton

Representing less than 1% of the world's cotton, it boasts an extra-long staple fiber, enhancing its strength, softness, and color retention. Additionally, its finer fibers allow for deeper, long-lasting color absorption. SUPIMA® Cotton has an incredibly soft and luxurious feel, this 100% American-grown cotton sets a new standard in quality and comfort.

Heavyweight Organic Fleece

Crafted from 400gsm organic cotton, features a plush, brushed interior, offering extraordinary softness and durability. This makes our fleece products not only exceptionally comfortable but also enduring. No toxic dyes, chemical fertilizers or pesticides, or formaldehyde are used.

New Zealand Raised Cashmere Merino Wool

Crafted using a luxurious blend of merino wool and cashmere, setting a standard for unmatched quality. Far from being synthetic or lab-created, these materials represent the pinnacle of natural softness and global desirability, making them the perfect choice for our luxury products.

Premium French Terry

Woven from the finest eco-friendly modulus yarns to ensure superior softness, absorbency, and luster. Exceptionally soft and highly absorbent, this fabric efficiently wicks away moisture, with each loop capable of holding several times its weight in water. Renowned for its strength, durability, longevity, and flexibility, our French Terry material offers an unparalleled combination of comfort and quality.

Our Cotton vs Average Cotton

Not all cottons are created equal. SUPIMA® cotton is a superior type of cotton grown in the USA. It represents less than 1% of cotton grown in the world. What makes SUPIMA® unique to other cottons is the extra-long staple fiber that gives the cotton its premium properties: Strength, Softness and Color retention.

American Craftsmanship

Our commitment to quality and craftsmanship extends into every aspect of our garment creation. Partnered with a premier Los Angeles-based factory renowned for its cut and sew expertise, each piece in our collection is meticulously crafted, blending craftsmanship with modern precision. Our garments are then decorated in our Michigan home facility, allowing us to maintain stringent quality control and ensure that every Caratage piece embodies our dedication to luxury and durability.

Our Certifications

WHEN “ORGANIC” REALLY MEANS “ORGANIC”

Our products bear certifications from renowned third-party organizations, ensuring our supply chain meets stringent global standards. These rigorous certifications instill confidence in both us and our consumers about the quality and impact of our garments. We embrace these high standards and advocate for their adoption industry-wide.

WRAP Social Compliance

WRAP is an independent, objective, non-profit team of global social compliance experts dedicated to promoting safe, lawful, humane, and ethical manufacturing around the world through certification and education.

Wind Mill Powered Production

Our garment factories use Suzlon 1250 wind power to encourage green power and continue leadership in environmental production.

American Grown Supima Cotton

The SUPIMA trademark is the consumers’ guarantee that the branded textile product they are buying contains the finest U.S.- Grown Pima Cotton. By licensing the entire supply chain SUPIMA provides added guarantee to customers that SUPIMA trademarked goods are made with 100% U.S. Pima cotton of the highest quality.

No Sweatshop Production

Our mills adhere to something called SA 8000 for Social Accountability Management System, and FLO (Fairtrade Labeling Organizations) which
are dedicated to alleviating poverty afflicting the majority of the world’s farmers and workers by setting and certifying the compliance of stringent, socially conscious production.

GOTS Organic Cotton

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

If a textile article carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every component of this article, i.e. every thread, button and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances and that the article therefore is harmless for human health.

Extra Long Staple Cotton

All Supima cotton is ginned on “roller gins” that operate at much lower speeds in order to separate the fiber from the seed gently. In contrast, regular cotton is processed by high-speed “saw gins” which use a more aggressive system to break the fiber away from the seed.

New Zealand Raised Merino Wool

Our Merino Wool comes from merino sheep raised on a farm in New Zealand. The farm upholds our mutual goals of maintaining animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and quality fibers. As a naturally regenerative fabric that breaks down in water and soil, merino wool is a responsible and premium quality material.
